Perfect Storm Automation Accessories
Fully automated TAB Wrapper Tornado Perfect Storm orbital wrappers are offered with their own set of optional accessories that promote non-stop, automatic operation with minimal operator involvement. These enhancements were developed to meet custom requirements and now they’re available off the shelf to solve similar wrapping challenges and fully capitalize on the speed and labor savings of automated pallet wrapping.
Multi-Pallet Accumulation Zone
For extra speed and efficiency, the Perfect Storm orbital wrapping system is offered with multi-pallet accumulation zones that allow forklift operators to line up pallet loads in succession at the wrapper infeed then drive away to other tasks without waiting around for loads in process. A proprietary sensor array scans the area, recognizes a pallet load is ready for wrapping, and automatically feeds it from the accumulation zone to the infeed conveyor, then to the wrapping ring. After wrapping, it automatically discharges the wrapped pallet load to the outfeed conveyor. The accumulation zones are designed in five-foot lengths based on the pallet size, throughout rate, and other factors.
Integrated Weighing
When it’s time to automate, automate as many steps as possible. The automated Perfect Storm is offered with load cells built into the outfeed conveyor to integrate the weighing function into the wrapping process. This eliminates the need for stand-alone floor scales and upgrades accuracy by weighing the final, fully wrapped pallet load or product as packaged and sent out for delivery. Extra freight charges and shipping delays due to inaccurate weights are eliminated.
A variety of powered roller and drag chain conveyors, lift and turn tables, label machines, and other equipment may be added to customize the wrapping system.
Anti-Fishtail Device
When the orbital wrapper pulls some lightweight pallet loads under 100 lbs. into the wrapping ring, or when the plastic wrap first contacts the lightweight parts or products, the action can cause these lighter pallet loads to rotate, or fishtail. It can also happen when the load weight is not evenly distributed on the pallet. If this happens, the product could move on the pallet or slide off the pallet, or it could tear the plastic film earlier than planned. This anti-fishtail device eliminates the issue.
As the pallet load is fed into the wrapping ring, the anti-fishtail device automatically centers the pallet in on the conveyor and keeps it centered during the wrapping process. In many cases, the Perfect Storm flawlessly wraps lightweight loads of 25 lbs. or less without this anti-fishtail device. We offer this as a proven preventative solution and extra layer of just in case.
