When using the Dimensioning System with a new or existing conveyorized TAB Wrapper, your product will be measured before wrapping, as the stretch wrap doesn’t add much to the measurements of the pallet. Load cells on the conveyor belt first capture the product weight. 

Then, as the load is pushed through, three scanners on the infeed side of the TAB Wrapper dimension the product. Two scanners are placed at the 10:00 and 2:00 positions of the wrapping ring. An additional scanner/encoder tracks infeed conveyor movement. These three axis measurements capture and record the height, width, length, and girth of the pallet. Girth, which refers to the circumference of a package, in particular is an important measurement in determining shipping costs and load eligibility with certain carriers. To date, we have achieved accurate measurements within 0.25” on conveyorized systems.

Now that your pallet is measured, it can be wrapped with stretch wrap. If you have a nearby computer station with a thermal printer, you can even print and attach shipping labels from our digital readout.
